The All-America Concert Band will open its 2012-2013 season Oct. 28 with a benefit concert at 3 p.m. at Eppley Auditorium to benefit the Food Bank of Siouxland.
As with all the band’s concert beneficiaries, the Food Bank will receive 100 percent of the admission revenue for the October concert. The admission is $10, plus some canned goods for the Food Bank. It is hoped that the Food Bank will make several thousands of dollars, and fill their now empty shelves.
The band’s season opens Sept. 5 with their annual Ice Cream Band/Stump the Band Jam on 4th street, in front of the Sioux City Museum. This will be the initial fall get-together for the band, which will start rehearsals the following Wednesday. The Band Jam will feather “Make your on Sundaes”, antique autos, and a fun jam session. All will be free. (Bring along lawn chairs).
