The Pearson Lakes Art Center is getting ready for the holidays!

November 21st, 2009 - 2nd Annual Iron Chef Challenge (11-21)

A college cook-off to raise funds for the new Family Crisis Center in Sioux Center. Student teams will compete in the Dordt College Campus Center Grille area, each creating an appetizer, a main dish, and a dessert in just one hour, using a secret ingredient to be revealed that night. A panel of 10 judges will sample the results and select the winner. Taste-testers are being selected by auction at www.siouxcenter.com, where the top eight donors will be awarded a seat on the judges panel. Families who bring canned goods will receive one raffle ticket for each item they donate, with thousands of dollars in donated door prizes to be awarded. Popcorn and cotton candy will be available for everyone (freewill donation), along with free children's games and prizes. Pizza Ranch pizza may be purchased on site, and the Campus Grille will offer additional dining options.

November 21st, 2009 - Junior Naturalist Program: Winter Wildlife Prep (11-21)

The Junior Naturalist Program is an excellent opportunity for youth 7-12 years of age to explore the outdoors and learn about the rich natural and cultural history of South Dakota. The program also encourages youth to be physically active in the outdoors. Kids are asked to participate in five interpretive programs and do at least three recreational activities.
