To find an article from the past 14 days, simply find the Search box in the upper-right corner of this site, select "Articles" from the drop-down menu, type in a keyword from the article and hit "Go".
To find older articles you can click on "Advanced Search" in the upper-right corner of this site and specify a date range and your other search criteria. In the "Advanced Search" area you can search for articles from February, 1996 to the present.
Click on "Advanced Search" found at the upper-right corner of this site. This will take you to another page which will allow you to search for past issues.
To find all past obituaries use the "Advanced Search" and put a checkmark next to "Obituaries".
To search all stories from any other specific subsection, try searching for a word that would usually be found inside the specific subsection stories.
For example: To find all past sports stories, search for the word ball or game.
Our Internet archives reach back to February, 1996. Anything before that date cannot be found online. Use the Archive search feature as described above to find your articles posted after February, 1996.

Classified listings automatically show online for at least seven days, depending on the amount of time the ad was purchased to run for. If the ad you are looking for is older than seven days and not found online, you may call our classified advertising department at (712) 293-4300. The people in that department can arrange to get you a copy of the newspaper from the day that it ran.
Usually in the early morning hours, 3:00am or 4:00am, the classifieds are posted for each day.
Ann Landers, Dr. Gott, our political columnists, and other national columnists sell the Sioux City Journal their columns for one-time use. That one time is in the newspaper. Those columns do not appear online.
