SIOUX CITY -- Mayor Bob Scott will highlight the importance of recognizing the city's architectural treasures at Monday's City Council meeting.
Scott will read a proclamation honoring Historic Preservation Week, which will run daily through this coming Saturday.
Scott will present the proclamation at the start of the 4 p.m. City Council meeting on the fifth floor of City Hall, at 405 Sixth St. The public is invited to attend.
Additionally, a display featuring photographs of buildings designed by famed architect William Steele will go on display at the Sioux City Public Museum, at 607 Fourth St.
That exhibit has not been exhibited since 1997. Steele designed the historic Woodbury County Courthouse, commercial buildings and houses in Sioux City.
