DES MOINES – An Iowa and Wisconsin-based architecture firm came up big at the 2017 American Institute of Architects Iowa Convention in Des Moines.
The company had two top 10 projects in the 2017 Excellence in Energy Efficient Design Awards. The Excellence in Energy Efficient Design Award program recognizes outstanding efforts in reducing energy use.
Northwest Iowa Community College's Industrial Technology Building, designed by FEH Design and West Plains Engineering Inc., came in first. It offers a 76 percent annual kBTU savings.
The firm also had the ninth place project. FEH Design and EDA Inc. oversaw the Sioux Central CSD Improvements and Additions, achieving a 43 percent annual kBTU savings.
