A business planning workshop at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 13 at Iowa State University Design West, 1014 1/2 Design Place, hosted by the Small Business Development Center, will focus on tips to successfully sell a business. On Nov. 14, a free Google Workshop held in English (12 p.m.) and Spanish (2 p.m.) at ISU Design West will inform small businesses and startups about how to improve the information available to customers searching on Google.

A "Biz Brew" from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Nov. 15 at The Diving Elk, 1101 Fourth St., will allow for networking opportunities with others interested in fostering startups.

Nov. 16 will feature the pitch competition for the regional Dream Big Grow Here in Orange City, Iowa. Entrepreneurs in September submitted ideas to start or expand a business, and five finalists were selected to enter the "pitch-off" to present their ideas to an audience and judges for a chance to win cash prizes.

The week will conclude Nov. 17 at the Orpheum Theatre with a "Business for Breakfast" event featuring Srini Rao, author of the Wall Street Journal best-selling book "The Art of Being Unmistakable." The free event begins at 7:30 a.m. To RSVP, call 712-224-5500.
