Don't miss the Midwest's biggest winter kite festival held on the frozen waters of Clear Lake!  Nothing is more beautiful than a sky full of colorful kites superimposed against the white snow and ice of the frozen lake!

You'll see huge 3 dimensional kites that are similar to the Macy's parade balloons.....except these are simply filled with the wind!  Buddy the Teddy Bear is 40' tall and a grown man could stand  up inside his foot.  But there are many even bigger kites at Color the Wind.  The many colorful banners and ground displays add to the festivities.

The stunt kite teams Fire and Ice and 180 will amaze you when they maneuver their two and four line kites in "dances" choreographed to music.  They will perform periodically throughout the day, so come dressed warmly....boots, hats, gloves, etc and especially sunglasses so you can stay all day.

Hot food, beverages and home made sweet treats will be available on site.  A "kite shop" will be located in the Lakeview Room across the street from the flying field.  We invite you to purchase your own kite and join the fun on the lake!  See our website for much more!
