SIOUX CITY | Have you been dreaming if a "blue" Christmas, especially one with dyed needles, googly eyes and ornaments shaped tiny cookies?
If you were thinking this sound like am evergreen that was the spitting image of "Sesame Street"'s Cookie Monster, you'd be right.
This homage to the junk food-eating Muppet -- discovered by the Sioux City Journal's Bruce Miller at this year's Festival of Trees -- was just one of the oddball displays we've discovered.
Bruce was also fond of the Festival of Tree's tree that was made entirely of used wood palettes.
That's one way of growing green, we guess.
Equally unique were a duo of Christmas trees that came from the 2017 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland Tour of Homes.
Sioux City Paint & Decorating's Jim Wolcott submitted photos of a Christmas tree made out of paint cans as well as a holiday "dress" made from paint card samples.
Both examples -- made specifically for the Tour of Homes --may now be found at Sioux City Paint & Decorating at 1625 Hamilton Blvd.
