The Ida County Freedom Rock was kept under a tent shortly after its completion last week by artist Ray "Bubba" Sorensen II. The rock stands just north of Highway 20 at Holstein, Iowa, along the community's "Avenue of Flags" area. It represents the 63rd Iowa Freedom Rock completed by Sorensen.

HOLSTEIN, Iowa | Artist Ray "Bubba" Sorensen II completed a June swing through Northwest Iowa with the creation of the Ida County Freedom Rock at Holstein.

The rock is located just north of Highway 20, a patriotic complement to Holstein's impressive "Avenue of Flags" on the southern edge of the community. The Ida County Freedom Rock, Sorensen's 62nd county effort in Iowa, completed a June swing through Northwest Iowa that saw the artist complete Freedom Rocks in Plymouth County (Kingsley) and Woodbury County (Anthon).

Sorensen returns to Northwest Iowa toward the end of July to paint the Cherokee County Freedom Rock at the Cherokee County Courthouse in Cherokee, Iowa.
