SIOUX CITY | The Broadway show "Elf the Musical" is coming to Sioux City in mid-November to play a pair of performances at the Orpheum Theatre.

The musical will play at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19 at the theater, 528 Pierce St.

"Elf" is the tale of Buddy, an orphan who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Unaware he's actually human, Buddy discovers the truth due to his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities. He then leaves to New York City to find his birth father, discover who he is and remember the meaning of Christmas.

Based on the 2003 New Line Cinema movie starring Will Ferrell, the musical features songs by Tony Award nominees Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin with a book by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin.

Tickets are on sale now at the Tyson Events Center Box Office, online at OrpheumLive.com or by calling 800-514-ETIX.
