YANKTON, S.D. | The Mount Marty College music department and the Benedictine Sisters of Sacred Heart Monastery will host their 35th annual Vespers performance Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 3 at 4 and 7 p.m.

The performance, called "Mother and Child," will be at Bishop Marty Memorial Chapel at the Mount Marty Campus.

The Sunday performances will feature special guests -- the Cedar Catholic High School Choir from Hartington, Nebraska, under the direction of JoAnne Hamilton, a Mount Marty College alumna.

In a press release, Brandon Connell, director of choral activities at Mount Marty, said the service will have an inspiring message for the Christmas season.

"This year we will honor the bond between Mother and Child. Throughout the Advent, Christmas, and holiday seasons, the Christ Child together with his Most Blessed Mother are the perfect example of love unbounded—a love that we, too, can offer within our own families—and by extension—our own communities," Connell said.

Tickets to the Vespers service are free, but there is a limit of six tickets per person. Tickets are available at the Sacred Heart Monastery Gift Shop and the Mount Marty College Pages Bookstore.
