SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Clutch free throw shooting in overtime ushered South Sioux City to a 49-45 River Cities Conference boys basketball win over Beatrice on Saturday at the Cardinal Mini-Dome.

The Cardinals hit six of their eight free throw attempts in the extra session and came away with a pair of steals in the final minutes to preserve the victory.

Kaden Sailors, a sophomore, had 12 points and along with Kevin Candia and Brad Hartnett each hit two free throws in overtime.

"We did a pretty good job, especially defensively in overtime," said South Sioux City coach Terry Comstock. "I am very proud of the effort we continue to have in practice, they continue to work hard, and that paid dividends today."

Hartnett had 10 points and Candia nine for South Sioux City, now 2-10 and 1-1 in the RCC.

Andrew Mahoney led Beatrice with 13 points.
