SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Devin Merkuris rushed for 285 yards and three touchdowns as Ralston downed South Sioux City 33-6 in a football contest at the Cardinal Athletic Complex on Friday.

Merkuris, a 5-11, 180-pound senior, scored on runs of one, 18 and 11 yards in the contest as the Rams earned their first victory of the season.

South Sioux City, falling to 0-3, got on the scoreboard for its first points of the season when quarterback Nate Canoles hit Trey Wilson for a 27-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter.

The Cardinals, behind 97 yards rushing from Dathon Klassen, had 225 total yards of offense.

South Sioux City travels to Platteview on Friday.
