Poppin’Bottles n’ Brushes is the proud sponsor of literacy through Kid Scoop News Siouxland for the third year in a row. Each month, art teachers and students from throughout Siouxland may send in student work for publication. Two students’ names will be drawn each month and those students will receive gift certificates for a two-person session at Poppin’ Bottles n’ Brushes. Kid Scoop News Siouxland is excited about this continuing monthly art section. All regional art teachers are encouraged to e-mail print ready copies of two or three art pieces each month. Please include a brief description of the art concepts, school, and grade in school and art concept being taught. This month’s award goes to Esmeralda Hernandez from Hunt Elementary for her beautiful white owl in river birch trees.
Dakota Valley Elementary
Kelsey Anderson’s art classes at Dakota Dunes embrace color through special drawings done in her art classes. Second grade student Bella Galles created a self-portrait using crayons and markers with a class display being created in a rainbow order.
Jr. Kindergarten student Charlie Underwood designed a fish drawing as did Kindergarten student Ryan Snoozy. After reading “Let’s Count Fish” by Michaela Schuett for inspiration, the students used crayons and tissue paper in a water color resist to complete the drawings
Henry Nguyen’s art classes at Hunt Elementary produce multimedia wonders. Esmeralda Hernandez submitted a wonderful fall owl in river birch trees, reminding us of the beauty of nature. The portrait and pumpkin selections indicate a strong use of color and design. Amazing artwork by elementary students.
