Have you ever seen an elementary classroom full of students who already know what their career will be when they grow up? Well ,in Mrs. Irwin’s fourth grade classroom at Leeds Elementary that is exactly what her students dressed up for the Fall Festival. There were students who were dressed up as a Nascar driver, teachers, football players, a welder, along with a professional dancer and many other choices.
This celebration included all students in the classroom with activities that included the good old Bobbing for Apples. Many of our classmates have never bobbed for apples and Mrs. Irwin said it was fun and tricky, as Heavenly found out! Beside, the apples were delicious and healthy for us. Even if we didn’t want to bob for an apple we all ate one.
Do you know what it is like to see in the dark? Well, that is another activity that we did during our Fall Festival was breaking open a piñata being blindfolded. It took a lot of students to try before the pumpkin broke open and out spilled the good old candy! We all split the candy along with our teacher because tootsie rolls are her favorite.
The celebration ended with all of us eating Fall Festival Chex mix, cupcakes, rice-crispy treats, water, candy, and other items we brought.
Our parents were invited to help celebrate with us. It was fun and we liked all the different activities included dressing up and talking about why we each choice our career!
What is your career choice?
