SIOUX CITY -- The Sioux City Symphony Orchestra will be hosting open regional auditions for its upcoming production of "West Side Story."

The classic musical will be performed with a full symphony orchestra in celebration of Leonard Bernstein’s 100th year celebration. Based off of "Romeo and Juliet," "West Side Story" has become one of the most powerful and revered musicals in history.

Auditions will be Nov. 10 at Dunker Student Center Dance Studio (Lot 3) on the campus of Western Iowa Tech Community College, 4647 Stone Ave. Times will be 10 a.m. open male dance call, and 2 p.m. open female dance call. Auditions by appointment will be Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Callbacks will be Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Rehearsal will begin on April 2 in Sioux City, with performance dates of April 21-22, 2018, at the Orpheum Theatre.
