SIOUX CITY | "The Living Nativity," a drive-through presentation of Jesus' birth put on by Westminster Presbyterian and Faith United Presbyterian churches in December, raised $700 for Sioux City's Warming Shelter.
Rev. Erica MacCreaigh, pastor at Westminster, said in an email that the 90-minute show drew around 455 visitors to the parking lot at Faith United.
"At one point, the cars were lined up all the way to Walgreens at Morningside and Lakeport," MacCreaigh said.
The event was free, but a free-will donation was collected to support the shelter. In an earlier article, MacCreaigh said the shelter was chosen because of its relevance to the story of Mary and Joseph, who had no place to go when Jesus was born.
