Corn feed and country music jam
SIOUX CITY | Riverside United Methodist Church, 617 Wright Ave., will hold a corn feed and country music jam from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Admission is $7, children 10 and under eat for free. Dinner will include: corn, taverns, potato salad, coleslaw, fruit, dessert and beverages.

Former area residents honored
Chaplain (Lt. Col, USAK, Ret.) Harold D. Bonath and his wife Ruth S. (Kroeger) Bonath were honored by the United Methodist Church in Castroville, Texas, for their 25 years of service.
The Bonaths served area churches in Dixon, Coleridge, Chambers, and Amelia, Nebraska, and Glard, Farmersburg and Melvin, Iowa, in the 1950s and 1960s.
SIOUX CITY | St. Mark Lutheran Church ELCA, 5200 Glenn Ave., welcomes all to a community picnic in conjunction with the citywide "Neighborhood Night Out," at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Greek Fest 2017
SIOUX CITY | Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 900 Sixth St., will host its 17th annual Greek Festival Friday through Sunday. Admission and parking are free.
The event is open 5-10 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday.
Come enjoy Greek food, dancing, music, taverns and a bake sale.
Joint church service and picnic
SIOUX CITY | Whitfield United Methodist Church and Riverside United Methodist Church will meet at 10 a.m. Sunday at the number five Riverside Park Shelter in Riverside Park, 1301 Riverside Blvd.
There will be music by the Siouxland Discovery Chorus, a service with the Rev. Liz Tucker and a potluck. Bring your own lawn chairs and food to share.
St. Alban's annual service about the Queen II
SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa | St. Alban's Episcopal Church will hold its annual Eucharist service aboard the Queen II at 9 a.m. Sunday. The service will be led by the Rev. Tom Early.
Tickets are $6 and may be purchased by calling 612-845-6963, at the church office or on Sunday at the boat. Transportation from the parking lot to the boat will be provided. There will be coffee and donuts available after the service.
An additional Eucharist service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at St. Alban's Church.
Northwestern religion professor co-leads panel
ORANGE CITY, Iowa | Dr. John Hubers, associate professor of religion and director of global education at Northwestern College, co-led a panel at the annual meeting of the Association of Professors of Mission at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois, last month.
OKOBOJI, Iowa | The annual Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camp will be held Aug. 4-5. Featured will be 170 quilts of varying patterns and sizes made by the Morning Glories quilters of Morningside Lutheran Church.
Those interested may view the quilts from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 4. Bidding will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday.
For those who wish to place a bid but are unable to attend, proxy bidders will be provided. Forms may be completed at the viewing or by calling the camp at 712-337-3306. Quilts may also be viewed online at okoboji.org.
