2/3 cup finely chopped blanched almonds

1/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour

1/2 cup sugar 

1/2 cup butter

2 tablespoons light cream or evaporated milk

1/4 teaspoon salt 

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat until mixture begins to boil. Remove from heat and stir briskly. Drop by teaspoonful onto lightly greased and floured cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 5 minutes. Cool for 1 to 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet. 

Turn bottom-side up and curl tightly around the handle of a wooden spoon. Remove and cool on rack.
