3 cups sugar

1 cup canola oil

4 eggs

1 (15-ounce) can pumpkin

2/3 cup water

2 teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon nutmeg

1 teaspoon allspice

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon cloves

1 cup chopped nuts

1 (8-ounce) package chopped dates

3 1/2 cups flour

Cream sugar and oil together. Add eggs, pumpkin and water, mix well. Add soda, salt, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, cloves, dates and nuts and mix well. Add flour. Pour into well-greased, floured loaf pans. Makes seven 3 1/2-by-6-inch pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes and remove from pans.
