SIOUX CITY -- Mercy Medical Center will host an event to educate the public about the health dangers of elevated radon levels in the home, including the increased risk of lung cancer.
The event will be held Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Leiter Room just off of the hospital's south lobby.
Paul Niles, a physician assistant with Akron Mercy Medical Clinic, will share information on this odorless, colorless, tasteless, radioactive gas found in 7 of 10 Iowa homes.
Registration is required and may be done online at mercysiouxcity.com. Click on the classes and events tab and select Mercy 101 or register by phone at 712-279-2507.
