Sara was born on Jan. 2, 1977, to Marilyn (Perry) Rupp and Steven Hagan, in Cherokee. Sara lived in Cherokee, most of her younger years. She attended Cherokee Community School District until her graduation in 1995. She attended and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1999 with a degree in psychology.
After graduation from college, she and two of her closest friends moved to Kansas City. Sara worked for Brown Mackie College, NCM Associates, and recently with John Deere.
Sara was a very devoted mother to her son, Gabe. Her whole life revolved around her son. Sara loved to read, travel, socialize, fish, camp, spend time with her family, and care for others.
Left to cherish her memory are her mom and dad, Marilyn and Randy Rupp of Cherokee; her sister and husband, Melissa and Brian Booton of Chicago, Ill.; her brother and his financee, Derek Rupp and Alondra Rodriguez of Peru, Ill.; her grandparents, Terry and LaRae Rupp of Cherokee; and her aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kaitlyn Grace Stimac; her father, Steve Hagan; her grandparents, Kathleen "Katie" Perry and Robert Perry, Wilma Hagan and Gene Hagan; and her uncle, Richard Hagan.
Her smile was her gift to all of us.
