SIOUX CITY | A warming period is on the way in Siouxland, as temperatures are expected to rise above 70 degrees for three days through Wednesday.

The weather trend has changed from recent days, when high temperatures were less than 50 degrees, prior to the beginning of the warmup Sunday.

The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has forecast a breezy Monday for Sioux City, with a high of about 76 degrees. Tuesday is expected to be sunny and a high of 71.

The Wednesday high could reach near 80 degrees, and there is also a 50 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms after 1 p.m.

The normal high temperature for Sioux City in late March is 54 degrees.
