SIOUX CITY | An Iowa Conservation Corps crew is in Sioux City to restore native prairie areas.

The six-person crew is on the north tract of the Riverside Bluffs Prairie taking out invasive species. The removal will improve conditions for prairie grasses and other native plants.

In addition, 750 feet of boundary fence will be constructed.

The site is in the 5000 block of Military Road, near Riverside Boulevard. Work is scheduled to finish Friday.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story had the incorrect location for the restoration project. This version has been corrected.
