SIOUX CITY | A plane carrying two people landed safely at Sioux Gateway Airport Wednesday after having problems with landing gear, officials said. No one was hurt.
An alert about the potential problem was issued at 7:54 a.m. Emergency responders were put on notice.
The pilot notified Sioux Gateway's tower that a light in the private plane, a TBM7, didn't indicate whether the landing gear had been deployed, said Airport Director Curt Miller.
The crew was able to get landing gear to work and landed safely, said Assistant Sioux City Fire Chief Pat Flynn.
The TBM7, or TBM-700, is a single-engine turboprop plane.
The airport is alerted whenever an approaching plane is experiencing problems, Flynn said.
