SIOUX CITY | Applications for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), which helps low-income Iowa homeowners and renters pay for a portion of their primary heating costs, will be accepted at the Community Action Agency of Siouxland, 2700 Leech Ave., beginning Wednesday through April 30, 2018.
Applicants will need to furnish identification, Social Security numbers for all household members, copies of the most recent heating and electric bills, and proof of the gross income for the past 30 days of the members of the household.
Last year, 3,432 households applied for assistance and 3,271 households were approved. Applications are made by appointment only.

LIHEAP is funded by a federal program and provided $1.938,779 to Woodbury County during 2016-2017. Assisting more than 16,000 low income individuals every year, Community Action Agency of Siouxland is dedicated to building partnerships, strengthening families and alleviating the conditions and causes of poverty.
