SIOUX CITY | Following a nationwide recruitment process, Gordon L. Phair has accepted the position of city engineer with the City of Sioux City.
He will begin his position on Dec. 5.
A 1991 graduate of the University of Maine with a degree in civil engineering, Phair is a licensed engineer in Iowa and California.
Experienced in traffic, flood planning and maintenance as well as waterworks, utilities and project management, Phair has been working for the City of Palmdale, California, for the past 12 years. He was previously employed by Los Angeles County, California, for 14 years.
Phair has an agricultural background, being raised in rural northern Maine. He and his wife, Krishna, have sons Burgin (age 19) and Wade (age 16).
