SIOUX CITY -- A man was taken into custody Thursday morning for trespassing in a downtown Sioux City church. 

The Police Department and the Woodbury County Sheriff's Department responded to a call shortly before 7 a.m. Thursday morning that a man had been found in the First Presbyterian Church, 608 Nebraska St. Sgt. Jim Bauerly of the Woodbury County Sheriff's Department said a custodian found the man, identified by police as John Baker. 

After a pursuit through the large building involving a K-9 unit, Baker was arrested and charged with criminal trespass and failure to obey a police officer. No damaged or stolen property was found. 

Baker was booked into the Woodbury County Jail.
