SIOUX CITY -- Tim Orwig, author of "Morningside College: A Centennial History," will present a lecture at 7 p.m. Monday in Morningside's Olsen Student Center, 3609 Peters Ave.
Orwig's lecture, titled "Diversity in Morningside College's Past," covers diversity milestones in the school's history that he discovered while doing research for his book.
Morningside was founded in 1894 by the Methodist Episcopal Church, according to the school's website.
Orwig, a 1980 Morningside graduate, received his Ph.D. from Boston University in 2010 and is author of two recent books, "Historic Photos of Boston" and "Remembering Boston." He worked at Morningside from 1986 to 1999 and served as director of the learning center, director of foundation relations and assistant dean of the college.
