SIOUX CITY | ArtSplash will celebrate its 20th anniversary in Riverside Park.

The annual Labor Day weekend event will be Aug. 31 and Sept. 1.

The long-running arts festival took place in Chris Larsen Park along the Missouri riverfront until 2011, when historic flooding moved it to Grandview Park. The new venue proved popular and got a second run last year.

Sioux City Art Center officials say the new location this year will allow for expansion and give the community the best of both previous locations -- the shade of old oak trees and flat terrain for more accessibility.

The festival raises funds for the Art Center's educational programs and exhibits and for area nonprofit agencies.
