SIOUX CITY | Sioux City residents can dispose of hard-to-recycle items on March 31 at the city's semi-annual Re-Event.
Sponsored by the city and the Environmental Advisory Board, the event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the Long Lines Family Rec Center, 401 Gordon Drive.
Vendors at the event will accept items including electronics, Styrofoam, batteries and light bulbs. The items will be recycled, reused or refurbished.
The event will charge $1 to $30 per electronic item to cover the costs of dismantling, recycling and proper disposal. Most televisions cost $10. Light bulbs will be 50 cents each. A full list of charges is available on the Sioux City website.
Appliances and household hazardous materials will not be accepted.
