SIOUX CITY -- Another dainty dusting of snow is coming to Siouxland on Wednesday night.
Tim Masters, a technician with the Sioux Falls National Weather Service, said whatever snow comes this way before midnight will be "pretty light."
"Probably only a trace to a couple of tenths," Masters said. "Kind of like last night, but a little bit lighter."
But another, somewhat stronger system will make its way here beginning late Thursday afternoon. It could last as late as Saturday morning, though it may break apart into two separate snow events.
"We've got a lot of energy coming in through the early part of the weekend," Masters said. Total snowfall from that system might be "a couple of inches," he added.
Temperatures will remain not-extremely-warm in Siouxland through the weekend. Wednesday's high temperature is expected to be around 16 degrees, with a Wednesday night low around 11 degrees.
Thursday will be slightly warmer, with a high around 23 degrees. Thursday night's low is expected to be 9 degrees, with wind chill dragging that down to 2 degrees.
On Friday, the high is expected to be a chilly 12 degrees, with a low Friday night of -1 degree -- with wind chills, that could feel like -8 degrees.
