SIOUX CITY -- Saturday's snowfall totals may not be as dire as initially forecasted.
Tim Masters, a technician with the Sioux Falls National Weather Service, said the snow system "just didn't come together as much as we thought it would," and now only 1 to 3 inches is expected in Siouxland.
"There'll be higher amounts further to the east" -- perhaps four to five inches around Spencer.
The heaviest snowfall will be Saturday afternoon, and the snow should be done sometime between 6 and 9 p.m. Winter weather advisory remains in effect until 9 p.m. Saturday.
Saturday's snow should be the last for a while. Sunday is expected to be dry, sunny and fairly warm, with a daytime high of 35 degrees. Monday and Tuesday are likewise expected to be sunny and warm, with high temperatures around 41 degrees and 38 degrees, respectively.
