SIOUX CITY -- As of Thursday morning, not a lot of snow has fallen in Siouxland. But a more aggressive snowfall is just around the corner.
Brad Adams, a meteorologist with the Sioux Falls National Weather Service, said only about two-tenths of an inch had fallen before 8:30 a.m. Old man winter will take a few hours of rest before the snow begins again sometime around lunch.
"It should be going pretty good by one, two o'clock," Adams said.
Freezing drizzle is expected to arrive during the first few hours of snow, which could make roads slick. Total snowfall accumulation is expected to be somewhere around 1.5 inches, while total ice accumulation might be 0.05 inches.
Sioux City is in a Winter Weather Advisory until midnight.
