GRANITE FALLS, Minn. -- A South Sioux City man was killed and two of his passengers were injured in a car accident in Renville County, Minnesota.
According to a report issued by the Minnesota State Patrol, 25-year-old Ahmed Abdikarim Hassan of South Sioux City died in a single-vehicle accident on Highway 23 before 10 p.m. Feb. 19. His 2006 Pontiac G6 was headed southbound and failed to stop at an intersection at Highway 212.
The Pontiac left the roadway and rolled eight or nine times before landing upright.
His passengers, 32-year-old Bashir Ali Mire of Sioux City and 25-year-old Yusuf Shuayb Ahmed of Lexington, Nebraska, both sustained non-life threatening injuries in the rollover and were taken to Granite Falls Hospital.
All three had been wearing their seat belts.
