STORM LAKE, Iowa -- A Storm Lake mother is in custody after her 6-year-old was found walking the street unattended late Wednesday evening.
According to a press release from the Storm Lake Police Department, around 11 p.m. Wednesday night, a Storm Lake police officer observed the young boy walking alone along 4th Street in search of his mother.
Police were able to locate the boy's mother, 42-year-old Merleen David, at a gathering at 509 Oneida St., and arrested her.
David was charged with child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor, and held on $2,000 bond. The child was left with family members.
