SIOUX CITY | Many Siouxlanders woke up needing to scrape the frost from their windshields during a chilly Wednesday morning.

Temperatures dipped below 30 degrees in the early morning hours, as northwest Iowa fell under a frost advisory through 10 a.m. and northeast Nebraska and southeast South Dakota fell under a freeze warning.

Warmer temperatures are on the way as the day progresses. Wednesday's high is expected to reach 62, according to the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, with sunny skies and a light 5 to 10 mph wind.

Tonight's low will drop to about 43 degrees, with temperatures warming to 70 on Thursday.

Chances of showers will arrive Friday and Saturday, with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s.
