CARROLL, Iowa | A 61-year-old woman died after the car she was driving was struck by a vehicle that ran a stop sign in Carroll County Friday morning.
The Iowa State Patrol said Debra Renee Kock, of Carroll, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other car has been identified as Kizer James Brockman, 17, of Lincoln, Nebraska. He was seriously injured and taken to St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
The crash report said Brockman's Jeep Wrangler was northbound on Kittyhawk Avenue and ran a stop sign and struck Kock's Toyota RAV4 at the intersection of 170th Street.
Both vehicles landed in the east ditch and the report said the Jeep caught on fire.
The accident remains under investigation by the state patrol.
