North High Track and car

Police say a car accidentally went down a hill and entered the North High School track Wednesday night.

SIOUX CITY | Police say a female driver accidentally drove onto the North High School track Wednesday night.

Sioux City Police Sgt. Jim Cunningham said the driver was in the parking lot of the school at 4200 Cheyenne Blvd. and accidentally went down a steep hill and broke through the fencing of the running track.

The unidentified driver then reportedly did a few laps around "to find a way out," he said.

The extent of the damages to the fence and car are unknown at this time.

The incident is under investigation. Any charges are pending, Cunningham said. It was reported around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.
