Grandview Boulevard Accident

Rescue crews attend to the scene of a hit-and-run accident Monday evening in the 1800 block of Grandview Boulevard. A 2015 Kia struck two men working on the door of a white Chrysler Town and Country minivan around 8:30 p.m. Both men were taken to Mercy Medical Center -- Sioux City with injuries, and one remains in intensive care.

SIOUX CITY | An arrest was made in the case of a hit-and-run that injured two men, one of which is still in intensive care at a local hospital.

The Sioux City Police Department reported that on Monday at 8:45 p.m. a collision occurred involving two vehicles near 1800 Grandview Blvd.

A 2015 Kia was headed northbound on Grandview Boulevard through the 18th Street intersection when it struck a Chrysler Town and Country Minivan parked on the east side of 18th Street.

Two men had been next to the van while working on it.

The Kia’s passenger side struck both men, causing severe injuries. The driver of the Kia, who has not been identified, did not stop.

Both victims were taken to Mercy Medical Center.

The Kia was located minutes later in Grandview Park, off the roadway and stuck in the grass. Police said the driver left the vehicle on foot but was found at his residence nearby and arrested.

The incident is still under investigation.
