VAIL, Iowa | An autopsy is planned on human remains discovered Tuesday under a railroad bridge near Vail, Iowa.

A Union Pacific Railroad worker found the body about 3 p.m. along tracks near Highway 30, the Crawford County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

Investigators were unable to identify the body due to decomposition, police said.

An autopsy was planned for Wednesday.
