STORM LAKE, Iowa | Police on Friday warned of a cell phone scam making the rounds in the Storm Lake area.
Officers received several reports of cell phone users receiving automated calls telling them the phone account had been locked. The callers were told they needed to respond in order to get the account reinstated, Storm Lake police.
Police say it is another scam.
"Citizens should not respond to the phone calls or share any personal information with the callers or any unknown caller, text message or email message," Storm Lake Public Safety Director Mark Prosser said in a statement.
