OBERT, Neb. -- An Ohio man was arrested Thursday after he was found with counterfeit money.
The Nebraska State Patrol said troopers arrested Robert Nixon, 42, of Cleveland after they found $11,450 in counterfeit currency.
The arrest came Thursday morning after 6 a.m., following a traffic stop. A trooper pulled over Nixon after the vehicle he was driving hit speeds of up to 99 mph on U.S. Highway 20 near the boundary of Dixon and Cedar counties.
He was originally arrested for driving with a suspended license, and in a search of the vehicle, the counterfeit bills were discovered.
The release said the U.S Secret Service determined the bills were counterfeit, and the Dixon County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the incident. Nixon is being held in Cedar County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
