SIOUX CITY | A Sioux City man was sentenced to 20 years in prison Thursday for having sexual contact with a young girl.
Trent Warner, 27, pleaded guilty in Woodbury County District Court to two counts of lascivious acts with a child.
In addition to the prison sentence, District Judge Duane Hoffmeyer ordered Warner to register with the Iowa Sex Offender Registry for life and also serve a special sex offender sentence in which he will be on lifetime parole after completing his prison sentence. If he were to violate terms of the special sentence, he could be sent to prison.
Warner admitted that on April 3, he had sexual contact with the girl, who is under age 10, while they were parked in his vehicle in the 1000 block of Nebraska Street. He also pleaded guilty to having sexual contact with the girl on another occasion between Feb. 1 and April 11 in a trailer home in Sioux City.
