SIOUX CITY | A Sioux City man was sentenced to 20 years in prison Thursday for stabbing four people during an argument on Historic Fourth Street.
Jess Pinney, 34, pleaded guilty in Woodbury County District Court to four counts of willful injury and one count of aggravated assault.
Pinney stabbed the people at about 2 a.m. March 26 in the 1000 block of Fourth Street. Police said the victims had been trying to help a woman who was involved in an altercation with Pinney when he turned on them, produced a knife and attacked them.
The four victims were treated and released from Mercy Medical Center--Sioux City.
Pinney also was ordered to pay a yet-to-be-determined amount of restitution to the victims for medical expenses.
