SIOUX CITY -- An Orange City, Iowa, man was sentenced to jail and probation Monday for manufacturing steroids.
James Nhan, 23, pleaded guilty in November in U.S. District Court in Sioux City to one count of manufacturing anabolic steroids.
He was placed on probation for two years and must serve a two-week jail sentence. He also paid a $100 special assessment.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Nhan admitted to manufacturing steroids from late 2014 until Dec. 15, 2015, with the intent to sell them to various customers. In December 2015, law enforcement executed a search warrant on Nhan’s residence and seized numerous vials containing anabolic steroids, as well as laboratory equipment, packing materials, labels and lists of names and addresses of individuals who had bought or intended to buy the steroids.
As part of a plea agreement, counts of distributing anabolic steroids, importation of anabolic steroids and possession with intent to distribute anabolic steroids were dismissed.
