SIOUX CITY -- A Sioux City man is facing more than a half-dozen charges after police say he drove a vehicle carrying three young children while under the influence of cocaine.
Alfredo Garcia, 27, was arrested Sunday afternoon in relation to the incident, which court documents say occurred Feb. 11 of last year.
Court documents say at the time, he was stopped by a Sioux City Police officer for a burned-out brake light and appeared to be under the influence of drugs. Police sent a urine sample to the Division of Criminal Investigation's Criminalistics Laboratory for testing, and results showed at the time he was under the influence of 177 nanograms per milliliter of cocaine, according to documents.
Three children, ages 7, 5 and 2, were in the car with him, documents said.
Documents state he was also found to be in possession of five bags of cocaine and admitted to police that he sells cocaine to his friends "when they ask."
Garcia was booked into the Woodbury County Jail on three felony counts of neglect of a dependent person, three counts of child endangerment and one count of operating while intoxicated. He was released on $15,000 bond.
