SIOUX CITY | The Sioux City Police Department on Monday arrested a woman on a felony charge related to stabbing a man in the 1300 block of Pierce Street.
Police in a release cited the arrest of Brittany Lapora, 24, of Sioux City, on the charge of willful injury. Police said the stabbing occurred just after 3 p.m.
The release said William Bauerly, 75, of Sioux City, was sitting in a vehicle, and passenger Lapora stabbed him in the side. Lapora reportedly fled and was apprehended a short while later in close proximity to where the assault occurred. The incident occurred near a Kum & Go convenience store.
Bauerly was taken to Mercy Medical Center -- Sioux City, and police said his injuries are not expected to be life threatening.
