SAC CITY, Iowa -- A Schaller, Iowa, mother and her son were arrested Tuesday for the second time in a year on charges of growing marijuana in their home.

Sac County Sheriff's deputies served a narcotics search warrant at a home in the 500 block of Perth Street at 3:51 p.m. and arrested Glenda Turnquist, 58, and Keegan Cross, 35, on charges of possession of a controlled substance and other drug-related charges after finding a marijuana growing operation in the basement.

According to court documents, deputies found growing lights, irrigation systems, a humidifier, hydroponic pots and mediums, air ducting, an air filtration system, potting soil and a growing tent. An unspecified number of marijuana plants in varying stages of maturity also were found.

Deputies also found loose marijuana in containers on a bar in the living room.

Turnquist and Cross were arrested in March after deputies executed a search warrant at the same house and found a similar growing operation and 80 marijuana plants.

Turnquist was sentenced in December to a deferred judgment and one year probation on one count of manufacturing a controlled substance.

Cross was sentenced in August to a five-year suspended prison sentence and three years probation after pleading guilty to possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
