STORM LAKE, Iowa | Gunshots were fired during a fight Thursday at a Storm Lake motel, police said.

The incident was at 4:16 a.m. at The Sail Inn Motel, 1015 East Lakeshore Drive.

Steve Herrington, 39, of Phoenix, Ariz., is accused of firing two rounds from a .40-caliber handgun in the parking lot during the fight, police said. No one was hurt.

Police said he had been in a fight with Charles Pulliam, 20, of Pine Ridge, S.D., who wrestled the gun away.

Both were arrested. It was later determined Pulliam gave police false information and that he was wanted by U.S. Marshals on a parole violation for a larceny in South Dakota.

He faces a felony charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm; misdemeanor charges of assault while displaying a weapon, public intoxication, interference with official acts; and two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct.

Herrington was charged with felony going armed with intent and assault while participating in a felony; misdemeanor charges of carrying weapons, reckless use of a firearm, public intoxication; and two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct.

Police made three additional arrests in the incident. Gary Truehart, 22, of Atlantic City, N.J., is charged with supplying alcohol to minors. Nathan Taggert, 19, of Basdrop, Texas, and Sean Martin-Spears, 19, of Gilbert, Ariz., are charged with the possession of alcohol.
